This interactive online workshop from YJLC is designed to support youth justice practitioners in confidently navigating cases involving children and driving-related offences—an area often seen as complex, technical, and high-risk in terms of long-term consequences.

The workshop will cover:
- The most common driving offences committed by children, including dangerous and careless driving, documentation offences, and driving under the influence
- How to approach Out of Court Resolutions (OoCRs) in these cases, including applying the Child Gravity Matrix in practice. A key focus will be on addressing situations where children are unnecessarily sent to court for “endorseable” offences that could be dealt with out of court
- The rules around “endorseable” and “recordable” offences, and why these distinctions matter
- The implications for criminal records and driving licences, including longer-term impacts on children’s futures
