Our courses empower Youth Justice Services to navigate the law confidently, work effectively with lawyers and courts, and support children to participate meaningfully in legal processes.

Delivered by leading youth justice lawyers, our courses are interactive, practical and evidence-based, ensuring teams can immediately apply their learning to real cases.

Our courses cover the key areas of youth justice law and practice, including Bail & Remand, Out of Court Resolutions, Child Criminal Exploitation, Sentencing & Pre-Sentence Reports, as well as Bias and Adultification, among others.

If you’d like to explore any training gaps within your team, we’d be happy to discuss your needs. We can work with you to design a bespoke training programme tailored to your priorities, covering a range of relevant topics.

We commissioned YJLC to provide training to our team on Out of Court Disposals and the updated Child Gravity Matrix and the changes to Bail and Remand.

This training has been invaluable to our staff and our service. It has kept us up to date with policy and legislative changes and allowed us to truly advocate to get the best outcomes for our children and young people in both the Court and Out of Court arena.

Our trainer Ruth was great, clearly very knowledgeable in the subject areas, but also able to draw on her own experience as a defence solicitor which really brought the training to life. The training was really well received by our team who particularly welcomed specific Youth Justice training. We look forward to working with The YJLC in the future.

Robbie, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for delivering such an engaging and insightful training session. Your depth of knowledge, clear expertise, and structured facilitation made the content both accessible and impactful.

I particularly appreciated how you encouraged discussion and practical application, which helped bring the learning to life and made it highly relevant to our day-to-day work. Your ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment did not go unnoticed.

Thank you once again for sharing your expertise and for making the session such a valuable experience. Don’t be surprised if you get a barrage of calls and emails from here on out!
