Liz Westlund, Head of Standards and Improvement, Youth Justice Board (YJB)

Liz is Head of Standards and Improvement at the Youth Justice Board with a remit covering all England and Wales. She leads on oversight of youth justice provision, monitoring the national standards, improvement for services which are struggling and gathering and disseminating innovative practice. Her work on case Management Guidance includes a section on guidance for writing reports for court.

Prior to joining the YJB, Liz led Camden YOT to gaining London’s only ‘Outstanding’ inspection rating, actually achieving the highest scores in the country in the process.

Dennis Egenamba, Youth Justice Social Worker, Hertfordshire Youth Justice Service

Dennis is a Youth Justice Social Worker at Hertfordshire Youth Justice Service and a visiting lecturer at the universities of Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire New University and University of Central Lancashire.  He has lectured on Youth Justice for MSc Social Work and BSc Criminology. In addition, Dennis has worked with lecturers on the Step Up to Social Work and Social Work apprentice programmes where his role is to bridge the gap between theory and practice for the students.
