24th March 2026

The Lucy Faithfull Foundation have published new resources to support teenagers following a parent or guardian’s arrest for online sexual behaviour.

Details

The resources provide a range of help for young people, including:

  • A short video sharing Deana’s* story – a teenager whose father was arrested for his sexual behaviour online; and,
  • What About Us? – a workbook aiding young people make sense of their feelings, offering gentle guidance as they navigate difficult emotions. Download the pdf here.

Commentary

  1. These resources offer a useful, child-centred tool for supporting children affected by a parent or guardian’s arrest—an often overlooked group who may experience significant distress and stigma.
  2. Youth Justice Practitioners should consider using the workbook as part of a wider safeguarding response, ensuring children are recognised as in need of support and appropriately signposted. Their experiences should also be reflected in assessment and planning, particularly where this impacts wellbeing and engagement.
