London Forum on Children and Policing

Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) has launched a Forum on Children and Policing in London.

Details

The Forum will bring together voluntary organisations to collaborate in improving the police’s treatment of children and young people in London (and nationally) with the aim of ensuring the police treatment of children meets the standards set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Forum is intended to encourage dialogue and learning so that children’s rights are at the forefront of the policing of children.

Through the Forum, CRAE will disseminate data and learning about the state of children’s rights and policing in London and information and knowledge about how children’s rights arguments and mechanisms can be used to improve the policing of children. Speakers at the Forum will also share research and policy changes.
