The Standing Committee for Youth Justice (SCYJ) has launched a new resource for Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) on anonymity for children in trouble with the law, to help ensure the YOTs views are heard in court.
Details
The SCYJ has produced a short guide which sets out four steps YOTs can take to ensure their views are taken into account by the court. These steps can be found here and have been summarised in a flow chart, available here. A separate flow chart, available here, helps YOTs ascertain whether reporting restrictions apply automatically in any given case, and when an application must be made.
