Legal terms A-Z

An admission to something, usually having committed an offence.1 A confession is usually admissible evidence in court.2

An admission to committing an offence is usually necessary for a child to receive Out of Court Disposals such as:

  • an informal diversion;
  • community resolution;
  • youth caution;
  • youth conditional caution.
