An admission to something, usually having committed an offence.
It is defined in legislation as “any statement wholly or partly adverse to the person who made it, whether made to a person in authority or not and whether made in words or otherwise”.
An admission to committing an offence is usually necessary for a child to receive Out of Court Resolutions such as a youth caution or a youth conditional caution. Other informal OOCRs does not necessarily require an admission.
