Bail Appeals

A child defendant can appeal to the Crown Court if they have been denied bail by the youth court or adult magistrate’s court.  They can also appeal against a condition attached to their bail if they have been granted conditional bail. 

The prosecution may also appeal a bail decision to the Crown Court. In this instance, the child defendant must be remanded to local authority accommodation until the bail appeal hearing.
