AssetPlus (Young Offender Assessment Profile) is a structured assessment tool which is used by Youth Justice Services in England and Wales on all young offenders to assess their needs and the risk that they will reoffend. The assessment framework is used at various stages of YJS work including when preparing pre-sentence reports (PSRs) and assessing children’s suitability for Bail Supervision and Support Packages.
The level of intervention required is determined by the risk assessment and the ‘scaled approach’ principle, meaning children with the greatest risk of reoffending and harm will require the greatest intervention.
