When the court case has not finished. It has been stopped and will start again later, or on another day.
A case may be adjourned where a child fails to attend for his or her trial, where further enquiries need to be made, where the court wishes to make an interim injunction or order, where a report is being prepared prior to sentence or as deemed appropriate by the court.
An application to adjourn will be considered in line with the principles outlined in the Youth Court Bench Book.1
