Injunctions for Anti-Social Behaviour

Legal terms A-Z

The new anti-social behaviour civil injunction1 replaces the civil Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) and Anti Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI).

Civil injunctions can be made against children aged 10 and over.2 Applications are made in the youth court3 and the Youth Offending Team (YOT) will need to be consulted (unless the application is without notice).4

Breach of a civil injunction by a child 14 years or older is punishable with a civil detention order of up to three months.5
