About the YJLC Summit 2021

The fourth annual Youth Justice Legal Centre Summit will be an interactive, live virtual event.

The day will bring experts from various jurisdictions together with practitioners to learn about bias and discrimination and to share ideas on how to overcome it. You will hear from leading experts from across the globe about their ideas for tools that can be used to confront discrimination in order to represent children better.

The summit will look at five areas where children in the criminal justice system can experience discrimination. The themes of these are Girls, Race, Class, Kids (age), and Fear.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, we are able to invite all delegates to attend the Summit free of charge, and you are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like.

Registration has ended.

As in previous years, the YJLC Summit is an opportunity to bring together those who work so tirelessly in this undervalued sector, and to celebrate our community and our collective work. We hope to share knowledge, circulate innovation, and develop good practice by first identifying the bias, discrimination and fear children experience within the criminal justice system and then developing ways of tackling it. We hope that this year’s Summit will be one of many steps towards defeating discrimination.

We are a registered training provider with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Attendance at the Summit can be recorded on your development record as part of your
Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Although we are pleased to offer admission free of charge, we rely on donations to continue our work. We encourage you to consider making a donation to help us continue to provide legal knowledge and expertise about children’s rights in the criminal justice system. We appreciate any contribution you wish to make.
