The Youth Justice Legal Centre (YJLC) recognises that the criminal law relating to children is complex and requires specialist legal knowledge and expertise.
We want to support Youth Offending Teams by providing specialist training on youth justice law. At YJLC, we know YOT workers, in particular court officers, want to feel confident that they are informed and up to date when writing reports and advising the court.
All YOTs want to be able to provide children and young people with clear and accurate information and support them to actively participate in any legal proceedings.
This training session covers:
Youth justice law and practice for youth offending teams: updater training for practitioners covering out of court disposals, children in court with a particular focus on fitness to plead and effective participation & the latest changes to the law on sentencing children and what these mean in practice.
We aim to deliver tailored, accessible and affordable training to YOTs. We are also offering regional seminars enabling joint commissioning by clusters of Local Authorities. If your Local Authority would be interested in arranging a seminar in your area, please get in touch with email@example.com
YJLC is recognised as a centre of legal excellence in youth justice.
Our highly regarded CPD training courses cover all major aspects of the youth justice system and are delivered by youth justice specialist lawyers.
