Attendance of Parents and Guardians

Children under the age of 16 must have a parent/guardian with them in court, unless the court thinks it is unreasonable. Those aged 16 and over may be accompanied.1

Children should always be encouraged to attend court with a parent, guardian or another supporting adult to help them through the court process.
